Those of you who rode in the first annual RIDE4VETS we thank you for your participation.
Those who donated to the Veterans' cause with your pledge contribution, we at the Rotary Club of Marin-Sunrise appreciate your generosity. If you have yet to make a pledge contribution, please don't forget to do so. The Veterans program does not receive proceeds from the rider registration fees - only from your pledge donation. Just $100 per rider goes a long way in supporting the Veterans.
The "Ride4Vets" pledge proceeds received by Rotary Club of Marin-Sunrise Foundation, a 501 (c)(3), go to the Veterans VIP Program in Marin to support our service members who have sustained the "hidden" injuries of war. For more infomation about the program see "Why We Ride" or visit www.VHIP.org.
You may have noticed a film crew at the ride. Erik Jendresen, lead-writer and supervising producer of the award-winning, HBO mini-series “Band of Brothers” is producing a 15-minute documentary on the ride. The documentary will be used to promote the bicycling fund-raising event and the NCIRE Veterans Wellness Program across the nation. We hope that it will serve as a grass-roots model for the thousands of Rotary Clubs and other service organizations across the country for them to help the Veterans in their community who suffer from the “hidden” injuries of war. In modern parlance, we hope to take the ride and the program viral.
By the way, if you liked the “Band of Bikers” cycling jerseys (designed by the Band of Brothers graphics team) you may order one by contacting us at email@example.com . We will follow up and take your order. The cost is only $65.
